Description:
Graduate level course which can include senior-level undergraduate students. This course would be of interest to students specializing in transportation, structural, or sustainable infrastructure and built environment programs. Mechanical and electrical engineering students with an interest in Railroad Engineering are also encouraged to participate in this course. Topics include introduction to passenger and freight railroads, infrastructure, track geometry, geometric alignment, train performance, power and energy, intermodal operations, signaling and control.
