Design of Sustainable Transportation Systems

Graduate level course which is also open to senior-level undergraduate students.  This course would be of interest to students specializing in transportation or sustainable infrastructure and the built environment programs. Environmental consequences and transportation systems, asset management, context sensitive solutions, intelligent transportation systems, livable communities, and design of public rail mass transit systems will be the emphasis in this course.  In addition, the efficiency of railroad systems, and the role they play in contemporary events in North America (such as the energy development activities in the US and Canada), are included in the course.
